Shadow of Mt. Rainier on clouds (comment)

There are many photo’s of this mountain casting its shadow.

Actually, Mt. Rainier is close to Seattle. Which means that many people have seen this effect.

This effect can only be caused by the sun setting below the level of the mountain, subsequently casting a shadow upwards.

I came across photo’s of mountains casting shadows on clouds at sunset (Mt. Rainier is not unique) in the context of disproving the flat earth theory. Unsurprisingly proponents of the flat earth theory don’t accept the explantion for these photo’s, but I’ve never heard or seen an explanation for this phenomenon that is consistent with a flat earth theory. Apparently all these photos are fake.
