夏黑葡萄乌龙茶饮料 (on the bottom) translates to “Summer Black Grape Oolong Tea Beverage” in English. The transcription of the Chinese characters in Pinyin is Xià hēi pútáo wūlóngchá yǐnliào
.
On the front it has only the first part: 夏黑葡萄乌龙.
Simple text, yet I failed.
First I thought 勇 (courage) instead of 夏 (summer):
Then I took 乌 for 馬/马 (horse), realized my mistake, took it for 鳥/鸟 (bird) also wrong. It was 烏/乌, crow or raven.
O yeah.
I had to look up 龙 as well. 龙 is simplified for 龍/竜 (dragon).
Another thing I did wrong before I recognized 葡萄 “grapes”, was trying to read vertically starting at the right with 黑. But no, simplified graphs=PRC Chinese, which does not do that anymore. So it’s left to right, as in Latin.
Finally, what’s up with the x between 乌 and 龙 ?
